Hi, I’m Alex,

the lucky Dad of Juliette

and the founder of Gandikids.

It all started in 2018

I had an idea…

…why not go on a vacation with my family?

So it would be me, my wife, and our 8-month-old daughter, Juliette. We were going to be on the road for 4 months.

Our initial plan was to spend the entirety of the vacation in South East Asia.

But we went to Thailand where we stayed for a month, and then proceeded to Australia for 3 months.

Trust me it was the greatest time of my life!

But then there was one thing that kept on annoying me.

Most public places, like restaurants, don’t offer baby high chairs.

And those that do only have one or two (which are usually occupied at all times).

So we had to put Juliette on the lap almost all the time. We felt like this wasn’t giving us much freedom to loosen up.

A friend we had made gave us their IKEA baby high chair

At first, it was a game-changer.

But then we soon realized it wasn’t very portable.

We had to remove stuff in the car we had rented just to accommodate it. And when at restaurants, it was a nightmare to get it out of the car and set it up.

And we found ourselves not using the chair as much as we had hoped.

This got me thinking – weren’t there baby high chairs that were portable?

I found plenty online.

Unfortunately, most of them don’t work on their own. You have to clamp them to a table or another chair.

And the ones that work on their own are bulky, expensive, and not very portable.

So this gave me an idea.

Why not make a full-size, stand-alone baby high chair that is super portable

…so portable that it can fit in a handbag?

Long story short, the Voyager high chair was born.
